"They named a rescue pup after me" - Anna Hall in awe after receiving the honor post the Paris Olympics
American track and field athlete Anna Hall has a puppy named after her, following her journey at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The puppy is a seven-week-old Boxer mix with blue eyes and a brindle coat with shades of gray and light brown throughout her body.
The puppy enjoys wrestling and lets out an adorable little growl while playing tug. Anna is also making progress in her potty training and is quite vocal about her needs and quickly forms strong bonds with humans.
An Instagram user, who fosters puppies and kittens for the nonprofit organization Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, shared details about the puppy, who is also available for adoption. In her post, she wrote:
“Adopt Anna! ❤️👇 Meet my newest foster, 7-Week old Boxer mix named Anna Hall ❤️ Yes, she’s named after @annaa.hall the Olympian - and all her siblings are named after olympians too.”
She also penned a note for heptathlete Anna Hall in the same post, writing:
“Anna… if you want to adopt this puppy now that the Olympics are over, DM me! 😂🥇”
The 23-year-old responded to this post, by sharing it on her Instagram story. She was in awe as she was both emotional and happy after knowing that a puppy was named after her, adding:
“They named a rescue pup after me 😭😭😭 going to need someone to adopt her or else!!! The way I 1000% would but I just adopted a pup of my own, still considering it 😭”
Along with sharing photos and details about Anna being up for adoption, the Instagram user also revealed the heartbreaking details of where the puppy was found. She said:
“She and her 8 siblings were dumped on a highway in Mississippi in the pouring rain before ending up in the care of @wolftrapanimalrescue”
Anna Hall has a labrador named Emma
Track and field star Anna Hall is also a dog mom to Emma, a Labrador. Both Hall and her labrador, Emma, are partners with Nulo, a brand committed to providing pets with the required nutrition they need in their lives.
In an interview with Nulo, she revealed how Emma is her best friend and has always comforted the two-time World Championships medalist, adding:
“By always being there as my best friend. Months ago, I had knee surgery, and my parents made sure to drive her to me, and she would not leave my side.”
Besides this, the heptathlete ensures that Emma has a nutritional diet. Just as Hall prioritizes her health, she is equally committed to making sure that Emma has a healthy and long life.
