The ongoing drama between Simone Biles and her former teammate MyKayla Skinner has been a source of entertainment for fans.

The drama started when Skinner criticized Team USA's gymnasts following their selection on June 30. She stated that besides Biles, the team lacked talent and accused the members of lacking a work ethic.

“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be. A lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” she said in a now-deleted YouTube video.

After facing backlash for her statements, Skinner claimed she had been misinterpreted and even apologized.

“It was not my intention to offend or disrespect any of the athletes or to take away from their hard work. I take full responsibility for what I said and I deeply apologize,” she said on Instagram.

Biles, who added to her already strong legacy at the 2024 Paris Olympics this week, recently took a subtle dig at Skinner with a post on Instagram captioned:

“Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions ❤️🥇🇺🇸.”

Later, she took to X to state that she had been blocked. While she did not give any further information, fans were quick to connect the dots.

"This is my favorite ever gymnastics drama," said one fan.

Another fan joked about Biles learning how to block from her husband Jonathan Owens, who plays in the defense for Chicago Bears.

"Bet hubby has pointers on blocking," said another fan.

Here are some more reactions:

"You’re iconic and who is she?" a fan asked.
"Simone wins. Again," said another fan.
"Life Lesson: don’t talk shit about people," reminded one user.
"Simone, you can't help being the GOAT hey? You did that," declared another user.

Simone Biles inspired Team USA to clinch the gold medal in the women's gymnastics team final on Tuesday (July 30). Despite appearing to tweak her calf during warm-ups in the floor exercise during qualifiers, she was pretty much on point in the final.

The American now has eight Olympic medals in three Games, more than any other American gymnast. Besides her five gold medals, she also has a silver and two bronze medals from Rio and Tokyo.

Biles and Co. will return to action on Thursday for the all-around final. The 27-year-old is set to compete in the all-around final and the finals for vault, balance beam, and floor exercise.
