USA Wrestling World Team Trials Results: Jordan Burroughs and Marcus Blaze advance to final rounds in men's freestyle
The USA Wrestling World Team Trials is a qualifying event for the 2024 World Wrestling Championships, which are scheduled to be held from October 28 to 31, 2024 in Tirana, Albania. The Championships will feature non-Olympic weight categories, including 61kg, 70kg, 79kg, and 92kg in Freestyle, 55kg, 59kg, 65kg, and 72kg in Women's Wrestling, and 55kg, 63kg, 72kg, and 82kg in Greco-Roman wrestling.
The USA Wrestling World Team Trials will select the team for four weight categories, including men's freestyle, women's freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. On Day 1 of the Trials, Jordan Burroughs defeated Alex Dieringer 7-4. He will lock horns with Chance Marsteller in the final round of the men's 79kg freestyle.
After pinning down Daton Fix 3-2, Marcus Blaze will face Vito Arujau in the 61kg men's freestyle in the final. On that note let's take a look at the results of Day 1 of the USA Wrestling World Team Trials.

Saturday evening witnessed the qualifying, quarterfinal, and round of 16 of the events. The results of the semifinal round held at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska are given below.
James Green pinned Jordan Oliver with clear victory points 6-3 to advance to the final round in the men's 70kg freestyle event. David Taylor won a technical fall victory over Michael Macchiavello in the 92kg freestyle event 10-0.
