Jade Carey has put forward incredible performances in her NCAA career. The gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the floor routine solidified her standing as one of the best gymnasts in the current generation.

Carey spoke to Olympics.com recently and revealed that she is following a different approach as she prepares for the Paris Olympics.

Carey said she had been working on improving her elite skills while gearing up for the Olympics. Moreover, she stressed on the quality of practice rather than the training volume.

“This year, I spent a lot more time working my elite skills and routines than I have in the past. I know that there were some college meets where I got there and I was like, ‘Well, I’ve only done one of these bar routines this week'.I think I mentally was in this spot this year, like, ‘Okay, I know I don’t need to do five a day to go out there and compete. I’ve been doing it for two years.”

Earlier this year, Jade Carey represented Oregon State at the NCAA Championships and won three medals. She clinched silver in the All-around and floor exercise events, while claiming bronze in the balance beam event.
