Paris Olympics has witnessed history as Team USA men’s gymnastics team was thrown into a celebratory mode after winning their first Olympic medal since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Team USA clinched the bronze behind Japan and China.
The team competed with high hopes of dominating at this year's Paris Olympics and they did not fail to steal the show with their iconic moves. However, their prowess was not enough to defeat Japan and China who were very impressive.
Japan managed 259.594 points to claim the win at the 2024 Paris Olympics while China came in second with 259.062 points. The USA completed the podium, earning a bronze medal after accumulating 257.793 points.
Team USA gymnasts could not hide their joy as they celebrated their feat at the Paris Olympics. Watch the video below:
All five gymnasts from Team USA showcased their skills in the men's artistic team all-around final at the Paris Olympics. They included Asher Hong, Paul Juda, Brody Malone, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Fred Richard.
Juda (13.366), Richard (14.833), and Malone (14.166) were in action on the horizontal bar. The parallel bars had Malone (14.433), Richard (14.566), and Hong (14.400) competing for maximum points to avoid being pipped by Great Britain. The vault had Juda (14.666), Malone (14.533), and Hong (14.833) representing the USA.
Team USA men's gymnastics team won a bronze medal in 2008 as well and won their sole gold medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The team has now won five Olympic medals overall.
A podium finish had escaped them for three successive Olympic Games including the 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics, and the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Fred Richard steals the show as Team USA ends medal drought with bronze at Paris Olympics
Fred Richard was a sight to marvel at as he showcased class in his horizontal bar routine, scoring a whopping 14.833 points at the Paris Olympics.
Richard was in action on the parallel bars earlier, scoring 14.566 points for the team. The points were crucial for Team USA, who were fighting for a podium finish and were in a tight race with Great Britain who looked formidable. The USA eventually clinched a bronze medal in the men's artistic team all-around final at the Paris Olympics.
The bronze medal is motivation enough for the gymnasts, who now get ready for the individual events at the Paris Olympics, where they also have their fingers crossed to impress.
