Legendary sprinter Usain Bolt and English footballer Jude Bellingham recently struck an iconic pose on the red carpet of the Laureus World Sports Awards 2024, held in Madrid on April 22, 2024.

Bolt recently attended the Laureus Awards, where Bellingham bagged the World Breakthrough of the Year Award. The midfielder transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid last summer, for over €100 million, and has already amassed 21 goals for the Spanish football club.
The 20-year-old also played a crucial role in the club’s 3-2 win against Barcelona at the La Liga 2023-24, scoring the winning goal in the 91st minute on April 21. For the Breakthrough Award, he was picked ahead of contenders such as tennis player Coco Gauff, swimmer Qin Haiyang, middle-distance runner Josh Kerr, and footballers Linda Caicedo, and Salma Paralluelo.
Additionally, the Laureus Awards 2024 saw tennis great Novak Djokovic and Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmat win the World Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Award.
Meanwhile, the most successful gymnast of the World Championships, Simone Biles, won the World Comeback of the Year Award.
How many Laureus Awards has Usain Bolt won?
Retired Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has claimed the Laureus Sportsman of the Year award on four occasions, in 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2017. Additionally, he was a nominee for the award in 2012, 2014, and 2016.
Bolt is renowned for his three world records in the 100m (9.58s), 200m (19.19s), and 4x100m relay (36.84s), achieved alongside Nesta Carter, Michael Frater and Yohan Blake.
Furthermore, he is an eight-time Olympic champion, winning gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m events, except for the 4x100m gold medal from Beijing Olympics 2008, which was stripped due to a positive drug test from team member Nesta Carter.
Usain Bolt became the World champion on 11 occasions, winning the 100m thrice, the 200m and 4x100m four times each.
