"We asked for a picture, two minutes and you were gone" - Simone Biles' mother reveals how Snoop Dogg once ignored them at Times Square

Snoop Dogg had an awkward moment during a live interview when Simone Biles’ mother Nellie called him out for once blowing her and her daughter off.

The American rapper has been present from the start at the Summer Games this year. He carried the Olympic flame on its last leg around the Stade de France during the Opening Ceremony. He is also working as a commentator for NBC and Peacock.

The rapper and Biles' family were interviewed by host Hoda Kotb for The Today Show on Friday (July 26). During the interview, the host reminded Snoop Dogg that he met Biles and her mother several years ago, which perplexed the musician.

“Snoop, I don’t know if you know this, but Simone and you have known each other for a long time. Right, Nellie?” Kotb said. (via New York Post)
“How? How, Nellie?” he asked.

Nellie disclosed that her family met Snoop Dogg in New York City in 2010, six years before Biles made her Olympic debut in Rio. She also said that the family wanted to grab a photograph with the artist, but could not get one.

“And you said – ’cause we asked for a picture – two minutes. One, two, and you were gone,” she said.

Despite the awkward moment, everyone laughed off the incident and moved on pretty swiftly.

Simone Biles was not at her best at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She withdrew from the women’s team final and four subsequent individual events to prioritize her mental health.

Biles took a two-year break from the sport before making her comeback in time to seal her spot at the ongoing Summer Games. Before the event, she admitted that the Paris Games was a "redemption tour" for Team USA.

“Our Tokyo performances weren't the best. We weren't under the best circumstances either But, I feel like we have a lot of weight on our shoulders to go out there and prove that we're better athletes, we're more mature, we're smarter, we're more consistent. This is definitely our redemption tour,” she said at the U.S. trials earlier this year.

And on Sunday (July 28), Biles made a stunning comeback at the Olympics. She scored 14.733 on the balance beam, 14.600 on the floor, 15.300 on the vault, and 14.433 on the uneven bars to see her finish with 59.566.
