"We gonna throw her a alley" - Simone Biles' husband Jonathan Owens reacts to basketball edit of gymnast beside Kevin Durant

Simone Biles' husband Jonathan Owens reacted to an edit featuring the former in an aerial somersault position playing an alley-oop at the basketball court. The edit also featured basketball legend Kevin Durant and his comment which asserted Biles' capability to 'catch a lob and finish'.

Simone Biles stepped on the gymnastics mat as the gold medal favorite and the most decorated gymnast at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her efforts not only brought the team gold to the US but also earned her the second all-around Olympic gold medal of her career. She extended her gold medal tally to six and also became the first gymnast since Věra Čáslavská (1964 and 1968) to win two all-around titles at the Olympics.

Jonathan Owens was granted permission to skip his NFL Hall of Fame Game, his first match with the Chicago Bears, to cheer on Biles in Paris. On August 1, he was in attendance at the Bercy Arena and witnessed another history being made. Soon after, in awe of his wife's prowess, he commented on a phenomenal edit featuring her in a basketball court.

Biles is best known for reaching unimaginable heights with her aerial somersaults. Her mid-action cut-out with a basketball in hand looked exactly like she aimed for an alley-oop (an offensive play when the player catches the ball in mid-air and lays it in before touching the ground). The original post on the Instagram page of ESPN also featured Kevin Durant's comment, reading:

"I really believe Goat Biles can catch a lob and finish"

Kevin Durant was also in attendance at Simone Biles' gold medal-winning event. He bumped into a fan, who asked him about his take on Biles' vault.

He wished to get calves like her and hit the gym soon.

"That was nice. It's the first time I'm seeing her live. I wish I had that kind of muscle in my calves. Im going to have to get in the gym for that," he said.( via an X page)

Simone Biles shared a heartwarming moment with Jonathan Owens after her all-around win

In an X post, Biles and Owens were captured gesturing hearts to each other after the six-time Olympic gold medalist clinched her second gold in Paris.

On August 3, 2024, the most decorated US gymnast will grace the vault finals, followed by balance beam and floor exercise finals on August 5. She will look to add three more golds to her repertoire.
