IShowSpeed vs Polish 100m Olympian Ewa Swoboda: All about the two's comments about one another

Sprinter Ewa Swoboda recently invited streamer IShowSpeed to a race event in Poland after the latter said that no one in the world could beat him while reacting to a video of the former. Swoboda is currently representing her country at the Paris Olympics.

It all started when the 19-year-old streamer reacted to a video of the sprinter and said that no one in the world could defeat him, including the Pole. IShowSpeed also said that he was named "Speed" because he never lost a race.

"Nobody in the world can beat me in a race. There is no point in my life where I ever lost a race. That's why people call me Speed when I was little because I never lost a race," the American said (via YouTube).

Ewa Swoboda was asked about IShowSpeed's comments in a video that has been shared on X. The Pole said that she found about his statements while calling her parents to brag about a tattoo she got of the Olympic rings.

"He's a YouTuber, he sometimes shows up on my Instagram wall, but that's all I can tell you. My Mom and Dad, I called them to brag that I just got a tattoo, I got the Olympic rings, and they told me, 'Oh my God Ewa, did you see that some YouTuber just challenged you?'" Swoboda said.

The 27-year-old also invited the American to a 100m race at the Silesian Stadium in Poland on August 24.

"Well, if he comes to Poland and he competes in the RMF FM Radio contest, maybe I'll run with him, but he has already been to Poland but the chances are slim. The day before the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial on August 24, there will be a race at the Silesian Stadium, where the winners of the RMF FM contest will run 100 meters with me, so maybe he still has time to sign up," she added.

Ewa Swoboda is competing in her maiden edition of the Olympics in Paris. The 27-year-old competed in the 100m event and qualified for the semifinals after finishing first in her heat, clocking a season-best time of 10.99 seconds.

Swoboda finished fourth in her semifinal behind Melissa Jefferson, Marie-Josee Ta Lou Smith and Mujinga Kambundji, clocking 11.08 seconds. This was not enough to see her qualify for the 100m final. The Pole still has another event left at the Paris Olympics, the 4x100m relay, the first round of which starts on August 8.

Her teammates include Martyna Kotwila, Magdalena Niemczyk, Magdalena Stefanowicz, and Krystsina Tsimanouskaya.

Among Ewa Swoboda's other performances in 2024, she won the silver in the 60m event at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow while clinching the 100m silver at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.
