Who is Anna Hall dating? All about the NFL cornerback Joejuan Williams who will be cheering her on as she competes at the Paris Olympics
Anna Hall is all set to represent the USA in the women's heptathlon event, which will be held at Stade de France tonight. Off the track, some fans of Hall are also eager to know more about her boyfriend, Joejuan Williams.
Joejuan Williams is a cornerback who played for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League. The 26-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, started playing college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores from Vanderbilt University. After he turned professional, Williams played for the New England Patriots from 2019-2022 after being selected in the second-round draft of the 2019 NFL season.
He then signed up with the Minnesota Vikings in 2023 and briefly played for them until 27 September 2023, when he was drafted by the Chicago Bears. He is currently a free agent.
While the exact timeline as to when Hall and Williams met is not clear, they have reportedly been dating since last year. In late 2023, a now-deleted Tiktok video posted by Anna Hall was reshared by "TrackSpice" on X, showing the two out on a trip during the off-season.
"Track couple alert. Heptathlon star Anna Hall is dating NFL cornerback Joejuan Williams who plays for the Chicago Bears 🔥 She was previously in a relationship with tennis player Ben Shelton."
In the video, Anna Hall was seen enjoying a private trip with Joejuan Williams, with some clips of her training as well. Anna Hall and Joejuan Williams have remained private about their relationship and refrained from posting anything about each other on their social media accounts.
Anna Hall's performances leading up to the Paris Olympics
Anna Hall, who hails from Denver, Colorado, was all set for her debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. However, during the trials, she broke her leg, ending her Olympic dreams in Japan.
Nevertheless, Anna Hall recovered in time and surprised everyone at the 2022 World Championships. With a personal best of 6755 points, Hall won a bronze medal at the World Championships for the first time. Anouk Vetter of Netherlands won the silver medal, while Nafissatou Thiam won the gold with a total of 6947 points. This was the same year when Anna Hall decided to turn professional after a flourishing career at the NCAA Championships.
Anna Hall went a notch better at the 2023 World Championships held in Budapest. She won a silver medal, finishing barely 20 points behind the eventual winner Katarina Johnson-Thompson of UK, who won the gold medal with 6740 points. With that, Hall became a strong contender for an Olympic gold medal in women's heptathlon at the Paris Olympics.
In an exclusive interview with Olympics.com last year, Anna Hall talked about her injury and claimed that it was a turning point in her career. She said,
"The injury was a really big inflection point in my career. I honestly don't think I would have done what I did last year [in 2022] had I not gotten injured. As much as it hurt and I was so upset and I cried for months and I felt so bad for myself, I really think, honestly, that was God's way of showing me, 'You really need to change the way you're looking at the track.'"
Hall's performances have earned accolades from many, including the heptathlon legend, Jackie Joyner-Kersee. During an NBC broadcast after Anna Hall's bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships, Kersee remarked,
"Anna, that fierce competitor, she kept pushing and didn't give up. She's young and I just can't wait to see what her future is going to be like in this event."
Just six months after her knee surgery, Hall stood 1st overall in the US Olympic trials to qualify for the Paris Olympics, with a total of 6614 points.
Hall is representing the USA in the women's heptathlon alongside Taliyah Brooks and Chari Hawkins. The events for the women's heptathlon will be held on 8 & 9 August, at the Stade de France in Paris.
