Who is Mondo Duplantis' girlfriend? Meet Swedish model and social media influencer Desire Inglander
Mondo Duplantis has been dating Swedish model and influencer Desire Iglander for nearly four years now. The couple met back in 2020 and have been very public about their relationship, with the recent one being an emotional kiss inside the Stade de France after the Olympic champion broke the pole vault world record.
The couple met at a Midsummer party in Stockholm. However, Inglander initially did not show much interest in the pole vault star.
"I was in the mood of, ‘I’m going to do my own thing, nobody can stop me'," she said (via Town and Country).
The social media influencer only wanted to dance with Duplantis, who was trying to strike up a conversation with her.
“The problem was, people flirt in a very different way in Sweden than where I’m from. [In Louisiana] there’s a lot more talking – you talk for a long time. So at the party, I was just trying to talk to Desiré, like ‘Hey, what’s up, I’m Mondo...’ but she didn’t want anything to do with it or me. She just wanted to dance."
The two eventually exchanged Snapchat IDs before going on a date a few months later. Inglander has been a regular at the meets of Duplantis, cheering on for every jump of the world record holder.
Desire Inglander was born and is based in Stockholm. She enjoys a massive following of more than 273k followers on Instagram and has modeled for several top brands, including Vogue Scandinavia.
Inglander and Duplantis shared a heartfelt moment in the stands of Stade de France on Monday, August 5. The Swede soared to a staggering height of 6.25m to set the new pole vault record, and the first person he ran up to was Inglander, sharing a long embrace with one of his biggest supporters.
Mondo Duplantis claims Desire Inglander brings ‘great balance’ to his life
Mondo Duplantis and Desire Inglander have been dating for nearly four years now, and the bond between the two continues to get stronger. The couple travel together to the pole vaulter’s meets and are frequently spotted on vacations as well.
Duplantis, who has a busy schedule around the year, said that Inglander brings a balance to his hectic life.
"Desire brings me such a great balance in life,” Duplantis said earlier this year. "It’s so nice to be able to come home and escape into a completely different world, absorb ourselves in each other and whatever we’re doing. She’s a great travel buddy," he said (via the aforementioned source)
With two back-to-back Olympic gold medals and nine of the highest marks in history to his name, Mondo Duplantis is already a legend in pole vault. However, he is just 24-years-old and is far from hanging up his spikes.
