Reyna Guggino was born on July 25, 2002, in Tampa, Florida. Her parents are Carl and Lynn Guggino. She has two siblings, a brother and a sister named Ysabella and Carl.

Reyna Guggino’s education

Guggino completed her early studies at the H.B. Plant High School, graduating in 2020. She joined the University of Michigan in 2021 and has competed for the Wolverines for four years now, and will be coming back for a final season in 2025. She graduated in 2024 with a degree in biology, health, and society.

When did Reyna Guggino begin gymnastics?

Guggino began gymnastics as a six-year-old. According to the 22-year-old, she fell in love with the sport after flipping through the air made her feel like she was flying.

"I started when I was six years old and what got me hooked would have to be the fact that I could flip through the air, making me feel like I was flying,” she said (via the University of Michigan website)

Reyna Guggino’s gymnastics career

Guggino’s career achievements began rolling in well before her collegiate career. In 2016, she was crowned champion on the vault and balance beam at the Eastern National Championships. She also won three Florida State titles in the same year.

At the University of Michigan, she has excelled in the vault competition, claiming six career titles in the event over four years. In 2021, the gymnast stormed to the national title in the team event. She was also a part of the Michigan women's gymnastics teams that won the 2022 and 2023 Big Ten Championships.
