“An authentic Saleen" — Tex Mex Motors season 2 crew celebrates after signing a Mustang deal

Season 2 of Tex Mex Motors premiered on Netflix on November 22, 2024. In Episode 5, the crew discovered a Mustang they hoped would bring a big payday. They worked to repair and repaint the car despite a sandstorm damaging its paint. Later, Steve Saleen confirmed it was an original Saleen, prompting the team to celebrate their achievement.

Scooter said:

"A team is important, it's kinda like a family. So, Jamie and I were talking about team building. We're also celebrating that the Mustang turned out to be an authentic Saleen. And what better way to celebrate and do some team building than to have a carne asada, you know, a Mexican cook out?"

Tex Mex Motors season 2 episode 5, titled You Got a NASCAR, was released exclusively on Netflix on November 22, 2024. The episode synopsis reads as the following:

"The shop works overtime to prepare the Mustang for Steve Saleen's arrival. Wes is pumped to work on a Monte Carlo with an elite racing history."

Steve Saleen verifies Mustang as an original on Tex Mex Motors season 2 episode 5

In Episode 5 of Tex Mex Motors Season 2, the crew celebrated after Steve Saleen confirmed the Mustang was an original. They hosted a get-together with cast members and their families, where Scooter prepared a Mexican lunch and emphasized the value of teamwork and effective communication.

Earlier, the team had faced challenges when a sandstorm ruined the Mustang's fresh paint, forcing them to repaint and repair the car. Andy, responsible for paint and design, shared in his confessional that an authentic Mustang would mean a "huge payday" for the team.

He continued:

"The ruined paint's a huge problem. However, the bigger problem is, that Steve Saleen himself, the legendary car builder is gonna be here within 24 hours. He's on his way to verify whether this car is one of his or not. If it is, it means a huge payday for the team."

When Steve arrived he approved the car after verifying that the console plaque was made of magnesium. He explained the process of how he ensures the cars aren't knock-offs, he told the Tex Mex Motors cast:

"It is a real Saleen. When I saw the console plaque, we made em out of magnesium because we wanted to make sure people could not duplicate it. So when you showed me that, I go, 'That looks like it should.'"
