The Voice season 26 episode 17 recap: The final Playoffs continue as two contestants remain in each team
The Voice, an Emmy award-winning singing competition series has introduced viewers to talented artists. In this reality TV show, there are five segments each artist has to pass: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs, and Live Performance Shows.
So far blind auditions, battle rounds, and Knockouts have been wrapped up. In the newly released November 26, 2024 episode 17, the Playoffs concluded with each team having two contestants who are to head to the live shows which will begin from December 2, 2024, onwards. In this episode, Michael Buble made a tough decision by selecting only two of his team members.

"The coaches enlist the help of superstar advisors as their remaining artists hold nothing back during the playoffs; tough decisions are made when each coach can only advance two artists to the live shows."
What happened on The Voice season 26 episode 17?
On The Voice season 26 episode 17, Michael Buble contemplated who to choose as his two final team members. When it was time for the artist Shye to rehearse her song Story of My Life by One Direction, guest coach Carly was confident that the audience would be impressed.
Meanwhile, Jaukeem Fortson wanted to prove that he was an artist who could sing a different range of songs, not just Christian music. He decided to perform Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson on stage, Carly was sure Jaukeem had the ability to hook the audience with his unique stage presence and storytelling.
The Voice cast member Sloane Simon was excited to sing Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan as she stated she was a huge Chappell fan. She was glad that Michael chose this song for her as Carly boosted her confidence by saying she has the richness and "all the abilities of the great pop singers.”
Next up was Cameron Wright, who sang Exhale (Shoop Shoop) by Whitney Houston Carly and Michael advised him to focus on bringing his element to the song as he sounded similar to Whitney. Then, Sofronio Vasquez took to The Voice stage, where he performed Crying by Roy Orbison.
Sofronio felt a strong connection with this song due to his father's passing, Michael stated that the connection brings out the storytelling and emotion of the song better. Carly mentioned being perfect on stage wasn't too important as much as making others feel an emotion through vocals was.
Towards the end of the episode, Michael decided to choose Sofronio because his “growth has been exponential." Alongside Sofronio, he selected Shye due to “a wonderful richness and depth” in her voice. This means the two artists are heading to The Voice Liveshows.
Contestants advancing to the next round from Team Snoop include Christina Eagle and Jeremy Beloate. Meanwhile, Team Ruba consists of artists Adam Bohanan, and Danny Joseph. Team Gwen on the other hand has singers Jan Dan, and Sydney Sterlace going to the next round. Team Buble has chosen Shye and Sofronio Vasquez as his final two team members.
The Voice season 26 episodes air on Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
