Chicago Fire season 13 episode 6 ending explained: Who is Ryan?
Chicago Fire season 13 returned with a new episode, Bird of Prey, which aired on November 6, 2024, on NBC and Peacock. After a short break, the show returned with an episode packed with mystery, drama, and surprises. The team at Firehouse 51 dealt with a mix of personal and professional problems that created chaos.
In this episode of Chicago Fire season 13, Severide got involved in a complicated situation with state police after finding something shocking at a fire scene. Mouch had to handle an unusual problem at the firehouse.
Meanwhile, Kidd talked to Carver about his unprofessional behavior, which had reached a critical point.
Ryan was the person found at the storage facility that caught fire. He was recently kicked out of his home and secretly stayed at the facility as it was cheap, but then he got caught up in a bigger mystery that Severide was trying to solve.
Ryan's appearance and sudden disappearance after the fire suggest there are more important things to uncover.
Chicago Fire season 13 episode 6: Fire at the storage facility hints at something bigger
The massive fire at the storage facility sets the stage for the Chicago Fire season 13 episode 6. The team thought it would be a normal job, but Severide felt something was wrong when they saw Ryan in the fire.
Severide later found out that Ryan had been living in the storage facility after being kicked out and might have used a space heater to stay warm, which could have caused the fire.
Severide, using his experience, decided to check the area after Ryan went to the hospital. At first, Chief Pascal agreed with Severide but changed his mind when the Illinois State Police, led by Captain Bishop, joined the case.
The state police were already looking into a case about ghost guns, guns without serial numbers that are hard to track. These guns, which can be melted easily, were found at the facility.
When Severide found ghost guns in the storage unit, he reported it, but Bishop and his team didn't like it. They took control of the situation and told Severide to stay out of it.
Captain Pascal, who had some problems from his time as a firefighter in Miami, was also told to keep Severide quiet. Bishop hinted that Pascal's questionable past could resurface if he didn’t cooperate.
Even though Severide was told to stop investigating, he became even more suspicious. He went back to the facility after everyone else left and saw that the state police had taken away a big object from another area, which made him think they were hiding the real reason for the fire.
Severide and Kidd later tried to find Ryan, but he was gone without a trace. The mystery got bigger when Pascal told Severide that he was working with Internal Affairs to make a case against Bishop, suggesting that there was corruption among higher-ups. Severide, determined to find out the truth, offered to help as they figured out their next step.

Chicago Fire season 13 episode 6: Mouch deals with a bird attack
While Severide tackled a complex investigation, Mouch found himself dealing with a far less conventional issue, a bird that wouldn't leave him alone. The strange incident began when Mouch got to the firehouse and was "attacked" by a pigeon.
At first, his friends made fun of him, thinking he was exaggerating, the situation escalated when Ritter saw the bird targeting Mouch with surprising accuracy.
Mouch tried to get help from animal control, but they were slow to respond. Tony thought they could use birdseed to get the bird to go away, but Mouch was tired of being chased and wanted a quicker solution. So, wearing protective gear, he climbed a ladder to confront the bird.
He discovered that the bird was acting so mean because there was a fallen egg nearby.
Mouch gently placed the egg back in its nest, and immediately, the bird’s behavior changed. The tension eased as the bird relaxed, bringing an end to the unexpected confrontation.
What started as a funny side story ended on a touching note, showing Mouch’s kind heart and gaining him more respect from his colleagues.
In the chaos and high stakes of the firehouse, Chicago Fire season 13 once again shows its ability to balance humor, character depth, and suspense.

Chicago Fire season 13 episode 6: How can Carver's new relationship get him out of his job?
Carver's relationship with Tori has greatly affected his work at Firehouse 51. After getting back together with his ex-girlfriend, Carver started showing worrisome behavior, which became more noticeable in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 6.
Tori's lifestyle, which involves excessive partying, caused Carver to drink a lot between his shifts and pull away from his coworkers. This new behavior made Carver less involved, and Violet's efforts to assist him didn't work because Tori continued to isolate him.
The consequences of Carver's decisions became clear when he showed up at the firehouse with a hangover after a night of drinking. Lieutenant Stella Kidd realized Carver wasn't with her team during an emergency call and found him asleep in the sleeping quarters, having missed the alarm.
This incident made Kidd more worried, especially since she was under pressure from Chief Dom Pascal to keep Truck 81 running smoothly.
Even though Carver promised to stop making mistakes, things got worse when he had to ask Tori to bring a forgotten piece of gear. Tori mentioned that Firehouse 51 is very critical and that places like Austin might be less strict, which made Carver start to doubt himself.
Right after, Darren Ritter pointed out an issue with Carver’s SCBA tank and reconfirmed from him as a friend, but Carver replied aggressively, amidst which Kidd stepped in and heard their conversation.
Despite Carver’s attempts to explain, she sent him home, warning him not to return until he got himself together. Carver’s relationship with Tori not only strained his standing at the firehouse but put his career in jeopardy on Chicago Fire season 13.
