NCIS: Origins episode 5 deals with Ana Larsen's missing body
NCIS: Origins episode 5 revolves around the case of the missing body of Ana Larsen. She was murdered with her lover, Captain Jonathan Rice, by her husband Albert Hope. The killer was arrested by Mike Franks and put in prison for double homicide, but Hope never revealed where he buried her body.
Years later, Hope is going to be executed by the state and Franks visits Hope to find out about Ana's remains to give her twin sister, Julie, the closure she needs to move on. The killer agrees to reveal his victim's burial site in exchange for a conversation with Julie, to which Mike reluctantly agrees.
Hope takes the NIS team to the place where Ana was supposedly buried. The team finds her remains, but Hope doesn't get to talk to Julie as Franks had no intention of exposing her to the killer with a 'God complex.'
Lala covers for Gibbs in NCIS: Origins episode 5
When the team reaches the site where Ana was buried, Lala and Gibbs find themselves in a situation with a couple of Spanish-speaking civilians. The two men in a car try to flirt with Lala but don't take her warnings to go the other way seriously.
Expecting problems, Gibbs intervenes in the matter, but soon loses his cool. He raises his weapon at the men, scaring them, and asking them to get out of their vehicle. Lala, who can communicate in Spanish, keeps the situation under control, telling Gibbs to lower his weapon and letting the men turn around and go the other way.
Later, Gibbs expresses his disappointment over his action and apologizes, but Lala tells him that she would have to report the incident to Franks. However, she changes her mind and decides to cover for him. Through their conversations, it can be seen that Lala has begun to trust Gibbs and wants him to move on through this job.
Ana was buried in a vineyard
Albert Hope was one step ahead of Franks as the remains that were found and believed to be of Ana, were actually of an eyewitness whom Hope had killed to cover his tracks. Julie meets Hope in jail and tells him that she forgives him and just wants to know where he has buried her so her loved ones can properly bid her farewell, but the killer remains unfazed.
The NIS team finds out that Hope buried his victims according to their religion, so they try to find out what religion Ana followed, but Julie tells them that she did not follow any religion. When Franks gets to know his team's theory, he realizes that Hope buried Ana in a vineyard because she believed that wine was her God.
At the end of NCIS: Origins episode 5, Albert Hope is put to death, and Ana's remains are recovered. Julie arranges a proper funeral to bid her farewell. In the end, Vera's approval for funding for her profiling program, which was earlier pushed to the next fiscal year, is accepted due to Franks' support.
