How fast can IShowSpeed run? Streamer's athletic abilities explored
YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" is one of the more athletic content creators out there. The streamer has tried his hands in various sports, including basketball, football (soccer), cricket, and recently, sprinting. For those unaware, earlier today (November 7, 2024), the 19-year-old went toe to toe with Noah Lyle, who won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games (100 meters).
The race was set at 50 meters, and surprisingly, the streamer almost tied with the Olympian. Lyles did, however, cross the finishing line first, winning the contest fair and square. The entire race is available on IShowSpeed's social media platforms.
For those wondering how fast Speed can run, the streamer recorded an impressive time of 4.44 seconds in a 40-yard dash (which is approximately 36.5 meters) during an NFL Draft event in April 2024. Watch it here:
Will IShowSpeed re-race Noah Lyles?
IShowSpeed is no stranger to rubbing shoulders with top stars. Just a couple of days ago (November 5, 2024), he collaborated with French World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba. Today, he took on a new challenge by racing the 'fastest man on earth,' Noah Lyles.
As expected, Noah Lyles emerged victorious in their 40-yard dash. However, Speed's surprising quickness impressed many of his viewers. Lyles has since offered him a week of training, saying they need to work on Speed's technique. He said:
"You should practice with me and then, at the end of the week, we'll race again."
IShowSpeed responded:
"Okay, fair."
Lyles further teased a possible 100-meter race with the streamer. He added:
"...and then you'll be faster, you'll know what to do, you'll have the technique. You'd have an advantage and then we could run the real men's race, the 100 (meters)."
Who else has IShowSpeed raced?
IShowSpeed has also demonstrated his impressive 'speed' against other creators. In September 2023, while visiting the UK, he trained with JJ "KSI." During their session, Speed challenged KSI to a race and, as expected, left the Sidemen member in the dust.
He also raced none other than rapper Travis Scott. Although Scott isn’t exactly an athlete and didn’t put up much of a fight, the race added some fun to one of the events they were attending together. Watch it here:
Earlier this year, Speed also accepted a challenge from Jake Paul. During an episode of the BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, Paul claimed he'd bet $25K that he could beat Speed in a race.
The YouTube streamer has since taken him up on the challenge:
"Let's see, free flight out, free $25K. I'm down, let's go."
Aside from sprinting, IShowSpeed also likes to show off his football skills. However, judging by his past performances, he’s not quite at the level of some other creators. The streamer is rumored to participate in the upcoming Sidemen Charity Match 2024/25.
