"All of our needs were met" - Beast Games contestant dismisses accusations against MrBeast
YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" has faced a lot of scrutiny following the announcement of his much-anticipated Beast Games. For those unaware, the game show is a collaboration with Prime Video and features thousands of people vying for the prize of $5 million. Even before the release of the first two episodes, the two parties faced a class-action lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, MrBeast and his team failed to pay minimum wages to contestants, did not prevent harassment during filming, and engaged in unfair business practices, among other things.
Despite the litany of allegations, Kevin Eloy, contestant no. 186 on Beast Games, has come forward to dismiss them. He said in a clip that has gone viral on X:
"So to all the people who were crying about it being too hard, and the food wasn't good - it was for $5 million. There wasn't anything hostile about our working conditions. All our needs were met, we got enough food, we had enough calories and we were given ample amount of time to sleep. It was up to you to use this time to go to sleep and not be having a conversation through all hours of the night."
"There were registered nurses, doctors, and emergency staff" - Beast Games contestant speaks about MrBeast accusations
MrBeast has come under heavy criticism for his and his team's alleged conduct during the filming of Beast Games, with the YouTube star even facing a lawsuit over the accusations.
There were allegations that the contestants lacked access to medical supplies. However, Kevin Eloy stated:
"There were registered nurses, doctors, and emergency staff on-site, at all times. So there goes some of those rumors right out of the window.
"I had nasal spray in my pocket the entire time. The staff knew, the crew knew, the production knew and everyone was okay with it. Now if that was the case about nasal spray, don't you think it would be even more so the case about things that were more serious?
"Everything for taken care of and people will still find a reason to complain and say that it wasn't enough. Were there some hiccups? Of course. But you try putting 2000 people in a stadium for a week, feed them, and film without anything going wrong."
The first two episodes of Beast Games were released on December 19, 2024. The series will feature a total of 10 episodes, all available exclusively on Prime Video.
