Dancantstream accuses Twitch of hiring Trust & Safety Manager who was removed from previous post for expressing anti-Israel sentiment

Twitch streamer Dancantstream recently accused Twitch of hiring a Trust & Safety Manager who was previously fired from her job at the United Kingdom's Office of Communications. As per Dancantstream, Fadzai Madzingira had been dismissed for expressing strong anti-Israel sentiments on her personal social media accounts.

While reviewing footage of former UK prime minister Rishi Sunak expressing concerns regarding Madzingira's comments on Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Dancantstream stated:

"This is so f**king crazy. This person was so publicly fired. Okay? So publicly fired for being an anti-Zioinist, anti-Semite person that they have f**king news articles about them. And you know where their next job is? Twitch! Their next job is at Twitch."

Fadzai Madzingira had been removed from her previous job as an online safety supervision director at the UK's Office of Communications. Also known as Ofcom, it is a government-approved regulatory body that has authority over the broadcasting, telecommunications, and postal industries in the United Kingdom.

This action against her came after a screenshot of her anti-Israel remarks made on her private social media went viral online. In it, she had described Israel as an “apartheid state". While describing herself as a "student of decolonization," she likened the ongoing conflict in the region of Palestine to a "genocide".

She was let go from her post at Ofcom on October 17, 2024. Her LinkedIn account, where she had posted about her experience at Twitch, is now inaccessible.

This revelation regarding Twitch's staff comes after allegations were made against the platform of temporarily disabling signups with email verification in Israel and Palestine after the first conflict between the two on October 7, 2023. Addressing these, Twitch stated that they "deeply regret" the decision, which they labeled as "unacceptable".
