Kai Cenat reveals he turned down $60 million contract from Kick

Twitch streamer Kai Cenat revealed he could have joined Kick during his last subathon (Mafiathon) in February-March 2023. The streamer explained that the Stake-owned streaming platform had offered him a whopping $60 million to host half of his subathon there. This would have made him the highest-earning Kick streamer, since xQc's historic $100 million contract was signed in June 2023.

Despite the massive amount of money, Cenat said that he rejected the offer. Explaining how the deal came about, the AMP streamer said:

"A day before the first Mafiathon, Kick called me on the phone, it was all live. They were like, 'Yo, we'll give you $60 (million).' I'm pretty sure it was $60 million. (They said) 'If you stream half of your subathon on Kick, and at the end of the subathon you reveal that you have to join Kick'..."

He explained that despite the tempting offer, he ended up praying to God, and eventually decided to turn down the offer. He said:

"...But, I hung up the phone, and this is real, I literally got down on my knees and I prayed and I asked God if this was the right decision, I wanted to follow my heart...Chat, I still feel like, if I went (to Kick), I wouldn't be here right now. No cap."

Did Kai Cenat break the all-time subscriber record on Twitch?

Twitch streamer and AMP member Kai Cenat has made history once again with his second-ever subathon called Mafiathon 2. At the time of writing (November 12, 2024), the event has brought in over 330K subscribers, making Cenat the most-subbed Twitch streamer of all time.

For context, Cenat first broke the long-standing sub-record set by then-Twitch streamer Ludwig in March 2023, when he surpassed 283K subscribers, eventually reaching a peak count of over 306K. This record was held until September 2024, when VTuber Ironmouse reached 326K subscribers, setting a new high.

Kai Cenat is currently only on Day 11 of his 30-day subathon, leaving plenty of time for his subscriber count to grow even further. With the momentum he's building, reaching 400K subscribers — or possibly even higher — seems within reach. Time will tell just how far he can push this record.
