Korean police take Johnny Somali into custody to protect the streamer from irate locals
Controversial YouTube streamer Johnny Somali was recently taken in by South Korean authorities and placed in the back of a police vehicle. Johnny Somali is known for being a controversial figure due to his racist and inflammatory comments, which he often makes towards native citizens of countries to invite reactions.
Even within the police vehicle, the video showed the content creator disobeying rules and drinking soju. This came after he tried to get locals to "run up" on him and claimed that he was "not scared" of Korean citizens:
"If I was scared, I wouldn't be live. I broadcast my live location every f**king day, every night, bro. I don't care. Come get me! Come get me!"
Johnny Somali challenges Koreans to "come get" him while sitting in the back of a police car
The YouTube streamer was accompanied by two individuals named Jino and Hank. When Somali was drinking the alcohol, Hank asked him to stop:
"Stop drinking in the cop car, man, or I'm going to drop everything, man."
After Somali and Jino jokingly stated that no drinking was taking place on camera, Hank stated:
"You follow my orders. We're not helping you, okay?"
While inside the cop car, Johnny Somali continued to mock and challenge Korean citizens. Asking them to try and pursue him, Somali stated:
"Americans have way more freedom here. These n****s protecting us, we in the back of a police car. Come and get us! Come get us!"
Despite being asked by Hank not to drink, the video showed Somali continuing to take swigs straight out of a bottle of soju.
Previously, Somali was arrested and deported from Japan after trespassing into a construction site. Apart from this, he had made headlines for repeatedly harassing Japanese citizens and making culturally insensitive remarks. This had even caught the attention of YouTube legend Pewdiepie, who is also a citizen of the country.
