Kyrie Irving says Kai Cenat and FaZe YourRAGE have taken over the streaming world
NBA point guard Kyrie Irving has stated that Twitch stars Kai Cenat and YourRAGE (real name Josh) have taken over the streaming world. Irving, one of the many star athletes to have begun their livestreaming journeys, was discussing how he got into this side of the internet on a broadcast when the two content creators' names came up.
While Irving was talking about who he should collaborate with on stream, many viewers named Kai Cenat and YourRAGE as potential candidates. In a clip from his livestream that has since gone viral on social media, the Dallas Mavericks star said:
"It seems like they[Kai Cenat and YourRAGE] have taken over this whole streamer world, they're doing their thing."
Kyrie Irving says Kai Cenat and YourRAGE were his introduction to the streaming scene
Kyrie Irving created his Twitch channel in 2021 with the username Kai11xirving. Since then, the NBA player has amassed about 190K followers on the Amazon-owned streaming platform.
While he does not stream regularly, Twitch Tracker reports that Irving's first broadcast dates back to 2022, and his most played games live include NBA 2K23, Call of Duty Black Ops, and GTA V.
During his latest livestream, Kyrie Irving addressed his chat and asked them who they would like to see him interact with in a broadcast:
"Who'd you guys want to see on stream, by the way? I got to have some people that I can put on stream. Other streamers, um, let me see."
The names of Kai Cenat and YourRAGE, both very popular figures on Twitch, came up repeatedly. In response, Irving gave the pair a shout-out:
"Definitely shout out YRG YourRAGE, Kai. I see everybody else, okay. I see all the names."
With Twitch streamers becoming more mainstream over the years, celebrities and star athletes have been collaborating with them at a higher rate. Kai Cenat was recently part of a promo for EA College Football 2025 where he interacted with LeBron James on a Twitch broadcast.
It is no surprise that Irving has heard of Cenat and YourRAGE. He even claimed that they were the ones who introduced him to the world of streaming:
"Kai and YourRAGE were definitely the ones to introduce me into this world, right?"
It is unclear whether Kyrie Irving will actually collaborate with the Twitch stars, but readers should note that the basketball star has been in contact with Kai Cenat before, inviting the streamer's organization to the NBA Finals earlier this year.
