Indiana Fever vs Connecticut Sun 2024 WNBA Playoffs: Schedule, where & how to watch and more for Caitlin Clark’s postseason debut
The Indiana Fever are officially returning to the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016, facing the Connecticut Sun in the opening round. Led by Caitlin Clark, the Fever will be the underdogs as the No. 6 seed against the No. 3 Sun in the best-of-three series.
The Fever ended the regular season with a 20-20 record, a notable improvement from last year’s 13-27 finish. The Sun, which features a deep roster including DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, Marina Mabrey, DiJonai Carrington, Alyssa Thomas and Tyasha Harris, finished 28-12.

Game 1 is scheduled for Sept. 22 at 3:00 p.m. ET, with the broadcast on ABC. Game 2 will follow on Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN. Both games will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
If a Game 3 is necessary, it will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana on Sept. 27 at a time yet to be determined and will be available on ESPN2.
Fans can also watch the games via WNBA League Pass and through subscription-based streaming services that include ESPN, such as YouTube TV and FuboTV.
Breakdown of Indiana Fever vs Connecticut Sun matchups this season
The Fever dropped their first three games against the Sun in the regular season during a 3-10 stretch, losing by margins of 21, four and 17 points. However, since then, they rebounded and ended their season winning 17 of their last 27 games, including an 84-80 win against the Sun on Aug. 28.
Caitlin Clark consistently scored in double digits during the Fever’s matchups with the Sun this season.
The Sun, however, had multiple key contributors in each game. In their season opener, five Sun players scored in double figures, led by Bonner’s 20, with Carrington and Harris adding 16 each.
In their second meeting, the Fever had five players in double digits: Clark and Kelsey Mitchell with 17, NaLyssa Smith with 13, Temi Fagbenle with 11 and Aliyah Boston with 10. Despite this, the Sun prevailed, with Thomas and Bonner scoring 24 and 22 respectively, and Harris and Carrington combining for 30 points.
In their third matchup, Clark was held to 10 points, her lowest against the Sun, while five Sun players, led by Carrington’s 22, scored in double digits.
In the Fever’s lone win against the Sun, all five starters scored in double digits. Mitchell posted 23, Clark had 19, Lexie Hull contributed 17 and Smith and Boston each added 10. Jones struggled, scoring only two points on 1-for-6 shooting, while Carrington and Mabrey scored 16 and 13, respectively, for the Sun.
The Sun are making their eighth consecutive playoff appearance while the Fever return to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
Furthermore, only three Fever players have playoff experience: Temi Fagbenle, Damiris Dantas and Erica Wheeler.
Fagbenle and Dantas were champions with the Minnesota Lynx, while Wheeler was part of the Fever’s 2016 playoff squad.
