Is Breanna Stewart playing tonight vs LA Sparks? Latest on reigning WNBA MVP’s status (August 15)
The Breanna Stewart-led New York Liberty will square off against the LA Sparks on Thursday. The matchup is one of three WNBA games set to take place on the opening day of the second half of the season. Stewart, who won her third Olympic gold medal in Paris, is likely to feature in New York's starting lineup.
The two-time WNBA Finals MVP missed two of her team's 25 games earlier this season due to a hamstring injury.
Stewart put on a phenomenal performance for Team USA at the recently concluded Olympic Games in Paris. The two-time league MVP was the second-best player behind Las Vegas Aces' A'ja Wilson.
Fans are excited about watching Stewart in action in the WNBA once again. The game between the Liberty and Sparks is scheduled for tip-off at 9:00 p.m. ET at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The prime-time game will be telecast live on ESPN.
