Angel Reese can't get enough of Maddy McDaniel's 'One of Wun' media day look
WNBA star Angel Reese is excited about South Carolina Gamecocks' recruit Maddy McDaniel. McDaniel shared a series of pictures on Instagram to celebrate the start of a new chapter in her basketball journey. After finishing her high school tenure, McDaniel is joining one of the most iconic programs in women's basketball and is set to help them defend their 2024 NCAA national championship.
"One of Wun I’m due for a win. ✨💫," she captioned the post.
Besides liking the post, Angel Reese dropped two comments to share her happiness about McDaniel's new adventure.
"Always my babyyyy," and "Turn up kiddo," Reese commented.
The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year runner-up went further and shared the original post to her Instagram stories with another message.
"My babyyyy."
Reese often shows her support to others, but mostly to her Sky teammates and other WNBA stars. She is clearly excited about Maddy McDaniel and is rooting for the next generation.
Angel Reese reveals the most important game of her life was against Caitlin Clark
Angel Reese is arguably supporting Maddy McDaniel the same way NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal supported her. Reese went through a lot of experiences during college and won a national championship against the Caitlin Clark-led Iowa Hawkeyes in 2023.
During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the No. 7 overall pick answered that this was the most important game of her life:
"Probably my national championship game, that changed my life. Seeing 9.9 million people watch that game, from a hand gesture... to everything that happened changed women's basketball forever. My life literally completely just changed from that game.
"Me and Caitlin have been playing together since we were kids. It's just a full-circle moment of how women are viewed when it comes to trash-talking."
Now McDaniel is set to make her college debut with big chances of making a deep run in the 2025 NCAA national tournament. South Carolina beat Clark last season and they're not ready to give up their dominance. Players like JuJu Watkins and Paige Bueckers will try to stop them, but it won't be an easy job.
