Angel Reese gives sneak peek of her signature player edition shoes after signing multi-year extension
Angel Reese teased fans with a little look at her upcoming signature shoes on Saturday. The sneakers aren't coming until 2026, but the player is already showing them off on social media, seemingly hyping fans with one of her latest posts.
The Chicago Sky star shared an Instagram story to show off a player's edition of her Reebok signature shoes. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year runner-up added a message to share her excitement about these shoes and what's coming for her.
"We love a good PE😉," she captioned the post. "2026 idk if i can wait🤭😭."
The collaboration between Reese and Reebok started during the 2024 WNBA season. Besides her themed shoes, she unveiled a collection with the company in August. Reese and the brand are taking steps to give fans merch and keep them intrigued before her shoes get released in 2026.
She joined an exclusive group of WNBA players with signature shoes and will release her first model the same year Nike is reportedly expected to launch Caitlin Clark's sneakers.
Angel Reese shared reasons to join Reebok over other brands
Ahead of the 2024 WNBA season, Angel Reese discussed why she wanted to join Reebok over other companies.
"So many different shoe companies wanted to work with me but I chose Reebok," Reese said. "What was it about Reebok? One, they didn't have a women's basketball player, a face, so I wanted to be that."
Moreover, she said that Shaquille O'Neal, a mentor for Reese and Reebok's president of basketball operations, played a role in her decision.
"And three, I like how they were branding everything, and they're letting me be the creative behind everything I want to do," she said. "I have my own shoe line coming out, merch, that y'all can be able to shop and like, stuff to our age.
"Y'all like what I wear, y'all like how I dress, y'all like my style so I wanted to incorporate that into Reebok. I want people wear my shoes, I'mma have a shoes probably in a couple of years, my own shoe, maybe like two years, once I'm in the league like hooping and stuff."
Angel Reese said that going to Nike or any other big company would have been an easy choice, but she wanted to take a different path and make a statement.
