Breanna Stewart hyped over star-studded Paris Olympics moment with Steph Curry: "Lot of [buckets]"
WNBA superstar Breanna Stewart was very active during the 2024 Paris Olympic inaugural ceremony on July 26. The New York Liberty forward is set to help the USA Basketball women's team aim for a record-breaking eighth consecutive gold medal, alongside some of the biggest names in the competition.
While in Paris, it's common for players to encounter other notable athletes, especially NBA players. Breanna Stewart shared a boat with the men's basketball team and didn't miss her chance to capture and share a picture with two of the best 3-point shooters in the game. 'Stewie' posed with Steph Curry and Liberty teammate Sabrina Ionescu, captioning the pic on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a hyped-up message:
"A lot of 🪣s," which stands for a lot of buckets.
Her photo-taking spree continued as she gathered the rest of the team to snap a picture with another NBA legend, 2024 flag bearer LeBron James. This time, she only used two emojis for the caption: the US flag and a crown, paying respect to the 'King.'
This year, Stewart and Company are strong favorites to win the gold medal again, much like the men's team. They know it won't be easy, but seeing the type of talent on their respective rosters, it will take a lot to take them down.
Breanna Stewart reacted to the Olympics' inaugural ceremony
After the USA delegation made its way through the Seine River, rain poured down on the crowd gathered. However, it didn't stop the excitement or the cheers. Stewart took to X to share her thoughts about the experience:
"Opening ceremony was literally 1 of 1 ☔️"
Taking part in the Olympics is a dream for many athletes. Breanna Stewart, with her prior experience, has already won gold medals in 2016 and 2020. After losing the 2023 WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces, Stewart is eager to add a championship to her resume. The goal now is to win the gold medal with her national team before resuming her quest for the WNBA championship.
Team USA will start its Olympic journey next Monday against Japan in Lille, France.
