Breanna Stewart and wife Marta Xargya cozy up in love-filled moments for Sunday fam jam
New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart shared intimate and heartwarming moments with her wife, Marta Xargya, in an Instagram post on Sunday. The three-time WNBA champion and her wife enjoyed a beach day together and shared a sweet meal in the photos.
The 18-slide post also featured a video of Stewart having fun with her meal and Xargya reacting playfully. It also included pictures with Stewart’s former UConn and Seattle Storm teammate, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis.
Take a look at her post below.
Breanna Stewart and Marta Xargay met while playing together in Russia. They got engaged and married in 2021 and welcomed their first child, Ruby Mae, the same year through surrogacy.
2024 has been a significant year for Stewart. She had their second child, Theo Josep, and led the New York Liberty to their first WNBA title after defeating the Minnesota Lynx in five games.
During the playoffs, Stewart averaged 19.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, helping the Liberty secure their first-ever championship.
Breanna Stewart thanks Marta Xargay for making parenthood easier
Breanna Stewart’s 2024 has been a landmark year, with the birth of her second child with Marta Xargay, leading the New York Liberty to their first-ever championship and launching the Unrivaled league.
In a conversation with ESPN's Hannah Storm, Stewart admitted that she couldn’t have accomplished all of this without her wife, Marta Xargay.
"It's a little tough to balance being a toddler parent at the same time but to be present, like, be where my feet are, definitely I wouldn't be able to do that without Marta,” she said.
“You know, when I go to the gym I want to be focused on my myself and my team and how we can be better. And then when I'm home with my family and try to switch things on and off but you get used to the sleep deprivation.”
Looking ahead to next year, Stewart will stay busy, especially as her Unrivaled league, co-founded with Lynx star Napheesa Collier, will launch on Jan. 17 in Miami.
The 2025 season of the 3x3 tournament will take place in Miami and will be broadcast on TNT and TruTV, as well as streamed on Max.
Breanna Stewart will play alongside Jewell Loyd, Courtney Vandersloot, DiJonai Carrington, Rickea Jackson and Aaliyah Edwards in the league, which provides WNBA players a profitable alternative to playing overseas in the offseason.
