Brittney Griner's wife Cherelle Griner encourages voting in pensive post, shares photo with Kamala Harris: "Like to do my research"
With the U.S. presidential elections right around the corner, Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner's wife, Cherelle Griner, encouraged her Instagram followers to make their vote count. Cherelle took to the platform to share a photo of her with presidential candidate Kamala Harris and a quote by John Lewis in the second slide, highlighting the importance of voting.
Cherelle captioned the post with a message for her followers urging them to vote, and she shared that she will be voting by mail. She also shared a "voting toolkit" in the caption, listing sources to help make an informed vote.
"📣 Go VOTE!! Only 12 days til Election Day! Don’t talk about it, be about it! Drop a comment with the way you cast your vote. I’ll be voting by mail because I like to do my research on each person and proposition listed. President, Senator, Sheriff, Judges… your vote matters for them all," Cherelle captioned.
"Voting Toolkit: Go to your state’s court.gov to find JPR’s (judicial performance reviews)! Watch the Presidential Debate and Rally’s to learn about their platforms! Go to your state’s legislature.gov to analyze propositions listed on this year’s ballot."
Cherelle is an attorney and first met Brittney while they were both students at Baylor University, which they attended between 2009 and 2013. However, the couple didn't start dating until years later, after the nine-time WNBA All-Star split from her former wife, Glory Johnson.
Brittney proposed to Cherelle in August 2018, and they got married in June 2019. The pair welcomed their first child, a son named Bash, in July.
