"Could’ve found a nice outfit at Zara" — WNBA fans react to Kamilla Cardoso's unconventional pregame fit after losing her suitcase
Kamilla Cardoso was one of several stars who traveled with the Chicago Sky to Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. While her team won the game, Cardoso lost her suitcase, which meant she no longer had access to the clothes she would have picked out for the pregame tunnel.
However, instead of rushing to her nearest store, the third overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft showed up in a last-minute outfit she may have borrowed from her teammates. In the buildup to the game, fans spotted Cardoso wearing a black crop top with blue shorts and a dark legging on her right leg.
Cardoso was all smiles and even waved to the camera as she started the matchup. Regardless, fans on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to spot her makeshift outfit and shared their thoughts on the social media platform:
“They couldn’t take her to the mall to get some clothes? She could’ve found a nice outfit at Zara."
“That's called bumming it Lol”
“She be having the time of her life on live 😂🤣”
“That is one way to do it! 😅”
Some users used the opportunity to praise her:
“One of a kind 😂”
“She’s so funny😂😂”
Needless to say, WNBA Twitter had a field day as Cardoso was left stranded without her luggage.
Chicago Sky return to winning ways against Las Vegas Aces as Kamilla Cardoso loses her luggage
For the Chicago Sky, every step forward this season has been seemingly followed by two steps backward. However, they responded to their loss against the Liberty in the return leg with a huge team performance against the defending champions.
Angel Reese saw her 15-game double-double streak snapped in the return leg against the New York Liberty last time. After losing that one, the Sky returned to winning ways after a sublime 34-point display by Chennedy Carter, who also had four rebounds and two assists.
Further, Angel Reese again got a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, as Marina Mabrey added 15 points on the night. Despite the Sky leading by 21 points in the second quarter (42-21), they again failed to capitalize on a quick start and saw the Aces make up in the third quarter.
However, a strong fourth quarter meant they did enough to come away with a 93-85 win. A’ja Wilson had a double-double of her own with 28 points and 14 rebounds, while Tiffany Hayes added 19 points off the bench.
