Kevin Durant and Vanessa Bryant were among the people who went to watch the USA Basketball women's team compete in the Paris Olympic tournament's semifinals. The women's squad faced off against an old rival, Australia, keen to make it to the gold medal game for the eighth consecutive Olympic Games.
While Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young dominated the game, other stars watched them courtside. For starters, members of the men's basketball team, Kevin Durant and Bam Adebayo, were spotted watching the game.
USA Basketball's official X account shared more pics featuring Vanessa Bryant, the widow of Team USA legend Kobe Bryant, who watched the game with her three daughters, Natalia, Bianka and Capri.
The cherry on the top was Sue Bird, one of the greatest female basketball players of all time, and her fianceé Megan Rapinoe, a legend of the United States women's national soccer team. The two stars were right next to Bryant's daughters.
USA Basketball women's team is closer to an Olympic record
The USA Basketball women's team has been a clear dominator on the international stage, winning seven consecutive Olympic gold medals. The WNBA features the best players in the world, and some of them play for Team USA. They have shown dominance during this tournament, taking over every game by large margins.
After beating Nigeria 88-74 in the quarterfinal, they were on a mission against Australia. Team USA made it to the gold medal game thanks to an easy win over the Oceanian, behind another good performance from Breanna Stewart. The New York Liberty star finished the game with 16 points after shooting 50.0% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc.
Jackie Young was her best partner today, taking over from A'ja Wilson, who had similar numbers to Stewart in the past four games. Young scored 14 points in 19 minutes, making six of her eight field-goal attempts (75.0%). Kahleah Copper, the controversial player from the Nigeria game, contributed 11 points, while Wilson added 10 units in the 85-64 win.
