Connecticut Sun star DiJonai Carrington expressed her feelings about her long-distance relationship with Indiana Fever star NaLyssa Smith on Friday. Carrington got emotional as she revealed to her followers on the platform how much she missed her girlfriend.
"I miss Lyss so much bro. Long distance year-round 😭 mannnn. *sent wit watery eyes 😩," Carrington tweeted.
DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith were teammates at Baylor University and have been in a relationship since 2022.
During the ongoing WNBA offseason, Smith took her talents overseas to play for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association.
Meanwhile, Carrington will stay in the U.S. and play in the 3x3 Unrivaled league, which is set to begin in January. Carrington was picked by Mist Basketball Club during the Unrivaled draft last month. She will play alongside Breanna Stewart, Rickea Jackson, Aaliyah Edwards, Courtney Vandersloot and Jewell Loyd.

In her latest post on TikTok, Carrington expressed her appreciation for Smith with a video montage of their moments together. In the video, the Sun star also called her girlfriend the reason for her happiness.

Meanwhile, Smith took to Instagram to share a throwback snap of her with Carrington and their pet dogs as she reminisced about their time together.
DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith made headlines when they faced each other in the first round of the WNBA playoffs as the Connecticut Sun took on the Indiana Fever. The Sun defeated the Fever 2-0 to advance to the next round, and Carrington was seen consoling Smith on the court after the game.
Carrington averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals this past season. She shot 40.3% from the field and 25.0% from deep in 29.6 minutes of playtime per game.
Meanwhile, Smith averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 24.8 minutes. She shot 48.0% from the field, including 29.2% from beyond the arc.
