"Fashion icon" Breanna Stewart gives deep dive into impeccable tunnel fits
Breanna Stewart gave her fans a deep dive into the inspiration behind her stunning tunnel fits during the WNBA season. ESPN's YouTube channel uploaded an interview with the New York Liberty star on Saturday where she talked about her outfits and her taste in fashion.
The video started with Hannah Storm calling Stewart a "fashion icon" and introducing her to the audience. She then showed pictures of her tunnel fits and asked her to explain the inspiration, brands and the idea behind them.
The first outfit that Stewart discussed was the Puma x Dapper Dan matching set. The second one was the all-Dior tribute to NYC before the gold Audemars Piguet watch she wore to a WNBA finals game.
Storm complimented Stewart on her ability to take men's wear and turn them into her style.
"I think that understanding my body and the way that some things are gonna fit me better if they are men's just because of the length of my arms and things like that," Stewart said. "So I am making sure that if it is men's wear like bringing a feminine vibe to it.
Storm then asked Stewart to talk about her love for fashion and when she turned into a fashion icon.
"I don't think that tunnel fits really became a thing until after COVID," Stewart said.
"I knew once I came to New York, I had to bring it."
Breanna Stewart had an incredible run with the Liberty last season. She averaged 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists to help her team lift its first ever WNBA championship.
Breanna Stewart shares her thoughts on the WNBA expansion and the Golden State Valkyries
During the same interview, Hannah Storm asked Breanna Stewart for her thoughts on the WNBA expansion and the arrival of the Golden State Valkyries.
"I think the growth of the league is really exciting," Stewart said (15:10). "I think that there are so many things that I don't know about what happens when you add another team and in the expansion draft. So, I can't wait to watch and see what happens. I have no idea who gets picked."
"It's gotta be a difficult job but it's an excitement you know, it's like all right if I don't know then other people don't know and they want to learn more about this team that's coming to the Bay Area."
Stewart didn't know that her teammate Kayla Thornton would get picked in the expansion draft. She was heartbroken when she heard the news of Thornton leaving.
