Cameron Brink stuns New Balance team by getting usually stoic Kawhi Leonard

"He's like male version of Aubrey Plaza" - Cameron Brink stuns New Balance team by getting usually stoic Kawhi Leonard to laugh

Last week, Cameron Brink made her WNBA debut for the LA Sparks. The No. 2 pick recently sat down with another LA star to discuss one of the NBA's most interesting players. Among the off-court partnerships Brink has is with New Balance.

Kawhi Leonard also has a shoe deal with the brand, and the two have crossed paths on multiple occasions. While speaking with Paul George on his "Podcast P" show, Cameron Brink shared her thoughts on the LA Clippers' other star. The two then discussed how people don't know that Leonard is a funny person.

"He is funny as s***," Brink said. "He's like the male version of Aubrey Plaza. Just like blunt, dry humor."

Brink had 11 points, two rebounds, four assists and two blocks in her debut game.

The Sparks faced the defending champion Las Vegas Aces. Brink struggled offensively, scoring only three points on 1-for-7 shooting. She made up for it on the opposite end by snatching eight rebounds and blocking five shots.

WNBA fan compares Cameron Brink to LA Lakers star

Aside from leading Stanford to a national championship, one of the main reasons Cameron Brink was drafted No. 2 was her defensive prowess. Her play on that end to start her WNBA career has some fans comparing her to one of the NBA's top two-way stars.

Over the weekend, a video of Brink's defensive highlights went viral on social media. One fan re-posted the video and compared the LA Sparks rookie to LA Lakers big man Anthony Davis.

During her time in college, Cameron Brink slowly turned into a force on the defensive end. As a senior, she averaged 11.9 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game. Through her first few games for LA, Brink is also showing the potential of being one of the league's top defenders.

Davis is a good comparison for Brink, as he is regularly in the conversation for the NBA's best defender. In 76 games for the Lakers this season, the former No. 1 pick averaged 12.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.3 blocks.

The NBA hasn't announced its All-Defense teams yet, but AD did finish fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Still, in the beginning stages of her career, Brink has a long way to go to live up to this comparison. However, based on what we've seen thus far, she looks like she has a good chance.
