"He's a nepo coach"— TMZ presenters mock Caitlin Clark's boyfriend Connor McCaffery for bagging Butler coaching job

TMZ presenters mocked Caitlin Clark's boyfriend Connor McCaffery after he landed a new coaching job. A Clark fan posted the video of the incident on X, formerly Twitter. In the video, the TMZ crew talks about McCaffery and his new coaching job at Butler University.

The discussion started with one presenter explaining the situation to the rest of the panel. He said that McCaffery was a basketball development coordinator at the Indiana Pacers, but now that he is an assistant coach for a college team, he has more responsibility.

"He's a nepo coach," one of the presenters said after hearing the news.

Another presenter said that Clark is the biggest figure in women's basketball and that she can make the call to get her boyfriend a coaching gig. Thad Matta, the head coach of the Butler University team, also shared his views on McCaffery's hiring.

"Following a high-level playing career, Connor has had the opportunity to both contribute and learn alongside one of the best staffs in the NBA,” he said (via WIshtv.com). "Those experiences will be very valuable to our staff."

McCaffery is taking over the job from former basketball player Greg Oden, who has played for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Miami Heat. Oden reportedly stepped down from the job to focus on his business.
