“Kate Martin sold more jerseys than A'ja Wilson”: WNBA Fans divided over Aces star’s logo on the side of a plane amid ‘marketable’ comments
A'ja Wilson's marketability has been a contentious topic among WNBA fans and the Las Vegas Aces star's latest snaps have only fueled the debate. On Tuesday, Wilson posted a collection of photos on her Instagram account with her standing beside a plane with her A’One shoe logo on it.
The stunning pics show Wilson boarding and hanging out on the private jet in shorts and a white top. Wilson added the following caption:
"Just doing it ✨💅🤍," wrote Wilson.
Wilson's caption was in reference to Nike's signature slogan "Just Do It." The reigning WNBA MVP signed a colossal six-year extension with the shoe company. Nike has invested heavily in Wilson and the 28-year-old plans to have her signature shoe, "A'One," released in the spring of 2025.
The latest pics of Wilson flying a private jet with her logo on this side have fans on social divided when it comes to her marketability.
"Kate Martin sold more jerseys than Aja Wilson Why aren't y'all buying up all her stuff then?" said a fan.
"No one knows what that logo is and she can't even sell jerseys, "said one fan.
"How many people know who she is?" Commented another fan.
While some fans remain hesitant that A'ja Wilson can grab the attention of fans the way Caitlin Clark has, others are all in on the three-time MVP.
"'Not marketable' meanwhile they got her logo on the side of a PLANE, said one fan.
"I'm loving this for A'ja, and I love it even more because her haters are insane with anger," commented another fan.
"And A'ja sold more jerseys than 90% of WNBA players....in the top 5 it's only Ionescu and A'ja plus 3 rookies," said one fan.
Among her peers, Wilson remains one of the most respected players in the WNBA. She continues to rack up championships and personal accolades.
A'ja Wilson became only the fourth player in WNBA history to win a third MVP crown
In September, A'ja Wilson was named the league MVP for the third time in her career. It was the first time in 27 years a player was voted the MVP unanimously.
Wilson joined an elite club of WNBA players with her third crown. Only three other players have won the award three times. The list includes Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie and Lauren Jackson.
Wilson led the league in points (26.9) and blocks (2.6) in the 2024 season. The dominant center also ranked second in rebounds (11.9) and fourth in steals (1.8).
