"My mudbaby" - Angel Reese sends birthday love to former LSU teammate with custom IG tribute

Angel Reese played two seasons with LSU, winning an NCAA championship and an NCAA Tournament Most Improved Player award. In two seasons with the team, Reese established a great friendship with former LSU player and her teammate Kateri Poole.

The Chicago Sky star made a birthday post for her former teammate on her social media profile. Reese posted a collage of their pictures together from the college and from the time they were kids.

Posting the picture on her IG Story, Reese wrote:

"LITERALLY MY MUDBABY! BEEN LOCKED IN SINCE WE WERE KIDS! LOVE YOU FOREVER & EVER! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WOOSKIIII @KATERIPOOLE."

After last season, Kateri Poole left LSU and joined the University of Houston. According to Sports Illustrated, when Kateri was asked by a fan on a live video chat why she left LSU, she said that her LSU head coach 'kicked her off' the team.

According to Kateri, Mulky alleged that she was giving game plans to other schools, which she denied. Poole will now finish her collegiate basketball career with Houston Cougars, and is playing her last season.

Angel Reese reveals the duality of her life outside and inside the basketball court

Angel Reese is not just a pretty face with a little bit of basketball skill. In her rookie season, the Chicago Sky star proved that she was one of the best rookies in the league's history. She also showed the potential to become one of the greatest rebounders the league has ever seen.

With the fierceness and aggression that Reese often shows on the court, the perception is easily beaten when she is outside the court. Even when Reese is on the basketball court, she doesn't leave behind her aesthetic identity in the locker room but proudly brings it on the court.

In a conversation with People, Angel Reese said that it is possible to be a "girly girl" on the court and yet compete as hard as anybody.

"My nails and hair and stuff are always done," Reese told People. "I'm being the girly girl on the court but still having that dog mentality and being able to go out there and compete too."

The former LSU star also said that she believed that she lives the dual life of a model off the court and a fierce basketball player on it.

"I live, I guess, a double life," she said. "Off the court, I model, I take pictures, I like to dress up and have fun — and then on the court, I'm about my business ... I love to work hard, I love to win. I'm a winner, so whatever it takes to win."

Angel Reese had a historic rookie season, giving some of the biggest competitive matchups to WNBA fans. However, when the season was over, Reese seamlessly transformed herself into a model, attending fashion shows.

Angel Reese's message is clear for young women; "it's okay to do both," and they shouldn't limit themselves in the box just because the world says so.
