Sabrina Ionescu Stats Tonight: How did the Phantom BC star perform against Laces BC in Unrivaled? (Feb. 18)

Sabrina Ionescu and Phantom BC took on Laces BC in the second game of Tuesday's Unrivaled action. The Phantom were looking to snap a two-game losing skid and get revenge on the Laces following their first matchup in Week 1 of the season.

Ionescu had a poor showing in their first matchup, which the Phantom lost 83-48. It was an embarrassing defeat for the star-studded roster that also featured Satou Sabally and Brittney Griner.

The New York Liberty star had 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in that game. She shot 6-for-17 from the field, taking 13 shots from beyond the arc. But how did Ionescu perform in tonight's rematch?

Ionescu finished with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds, but the Phantom still lost 75-68. It wasn't a blowout like the first matchup, with the star guard still struggling with her shot. She was 6-for-17 from the field, including 2-for-9 from 3s.

Here are Sabrina Ionescu's stats for the game:

The game was pretty close in the first quarter, with the Phantom even taking the early lead. However, the Laces started taking control midway through the second period, building an 11-point lead at one point.

In the second half, Sabrina Ionescu and company made a comeback to take back the lead at the 3:14 mark courtesy of a Brittney Griner basket. The Laces regained their composure and the advantage, eventually getting the 75-68 win led by Kayla McBride's 30 points.

How did Sabrina Ionescu perform against Laces BC?

Sabrina Ionescu was held scoreless in the first quarter by Laces BC. She struggled to find her rhythm and get into the flow of the game. She scored her first basket in the following period, wherein she scored 10 of her 16 points.

However, Ionescu's struggles continued in the second half, tallying only an additional six points. Phantom BC fans shouldn't be frustrated with their star guard considering she underwent thumb surgery back in December and didn't fully prepare for Unrivaled.

It's on her shooting hand as well, so there's going to be an adjustment, and unfortunately, it has to happen as the Unrivaled season goes on. She's coming off her first WNBA championship with the New York Liberty, so anything she accomplishes in the new league is just icing on the cake.

Sabrina Ionescu will continue her busy offseason next month when she goes on her first Asia tour. She is scheduled to visit Manila in the Philippines, Guangzhou in China, and Hong Kong from March 10 to 16. She's set to promote her second signature shoe and women's basketball.

Her first signature shoe with Nike was a huge hit and the company expects her second one to be the same.
