“She did it all because of jealousy”: Fans discuss Flau'jae Johnson's mother's alleged role in Angel Reese's 1.7 GPA rumor at LSU
Fans are revisiting the drama that unfolded between Angel Reese, her mother and her LSU teammate Flau'jae Johnson's mother. After Reese made a post on her X account on Nov. 5, urging fellow Americans to vote, the discussion on vote turned to almost a year-old beef between the mothers of the two LSU players.
However, the conversation quickly turned to the alleged involvement of Johnson's mother's role in the Chicago Sky star's 1.7 GPA rumor at LSU.
"GET UP & VOTE," Reese wrote in her Tweet.
Reacting to the post, a fan commented that a person having the right to vote with a 1.7 GPA was unbelievable.
"Can’t believe we let people with 1.7 GPAs vote," the fan said.
In reply, some of the fans wrote that if Angel Reese in fact had gotten a 1.7 GPA, she wouldn't have graduated from LSU and/also would not have been eligible to play in the WNBA.
"If Angel Reese got a 1.7 GPA, then that means she was ineligible to play college basketball let alone making it to WNBA," a fan said.
"Yall so f*cking stupid if Angel Reese had a 1.7 gpa her a*s wouldn’t have graduated," another fan said.
Another fan was left wondering why once great friends and teammates, Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson, weren't talking anymore.
"Why are Angel and Flau'jee not friends bruh," one fan said.
In reply, a fan wrote that the reason Johnson and Reese do not talk anymore was because Johnson's mother spread the rumor about Reese's 1.7 GPA.
"Why don't Flaujae and Angel hang out anymore🥹🥹" This 1.7 GPA rumor is because of Flaujae's mom btw💀," the fan said.
When a fan wrote that Johnson owes an apology to her former LSU teammate, another fan said that a lie spreads faster than the truth. The fan also said that Johnson should have checked her mom for making such comments.
"It’s crazy how a lie spread faster than the truth, she did it all because of jealousy & never apologized. 4 should’ve checked her mom as well NGL," the fan wrote.
When a fan said that there was a possibility that Johnson might have checked her mom and would have apologized to Reese in private, a fan in reply said that the apology from Flau'jae should have been public.
"They were friends the apology should’ve been as loud as the disrespect! Idc what she did in private," the fan said.
Another fan took a shot at the Sky star and wrote that her 1.7 GPA was showing in her tweet when she posted that she was disappointed in America in light of the election result,

The story behind the rumor about Angel Reese's low GPA at LSU
The saga of bad blood between Angel Reese's mother, Angel Webb Reese and Flau’jae Johnson's mother Kia Brooks started in November 2023. Reese's mother seemingly took a shot at Johnson's mother, saying people should not send her text messages with bad grammar because it made it difficult for her to understand the message.
However, Brooks retaliated with a severe attack, not just on Webb Reese but also on her daughter.
"You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter got a 2.0 or less GPA, and in fact when writing your smart message you didn’t capitalize nor did you use any periods," Brooks said.
When Reese graduated, she seemingly took a shot at Brooks with a social media post.
