Sparks' Cameron Brink spills beans on first-ever solo cover shoot for Slam magazine
LA Sparks rookie Cameron Brink headlined the cover of SLAM. The magazine is all set to release its 250th edition and Brink was one of the stars etching her name as part of something special.
Ahead of the WNBA season, Brink joined fellow rookie and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese as one of the cover stars for SLAM 250. The feature story associated with her cover shoot highlights her journey to being a hooper with an above-average height that has made her stark contrast to those around her.
Brink spoke about the experience with LA Clippers star Paul George in his podcast, "Podcast P with Paul George."

"It was crazy really, it was the day after the draft. It's such a blur, oh my gosh. It was the day after the draft and I got to shoot with Cool Mac, and he works with Bronny. And we shot on the phone. On a Google Pixel, and it came out super clear. It was like a huge honor, it's every hooper's dream."
This comes on the back of Brink being featured as one of the players sporting Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand SKIMS. The god-sister of Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Steph Curry has already made waves with her Draft day and will hope to make a statement with the Sparks this season.
Cameron Brink explains her relationship with Steph Curry
In the same podcast, Cameron Brink was asked what it was like to be Steph Curry's god-sister. The Sparks forward said it was a 'joy' to have the 4x NBA champion in her life. She even recollected a story:
“Honestly, he’s like very much the same as he is now. There’s like this one story I remember, it stands out so much. I was with Sydel (Curry's sister) in the pool in their North Carolina house. And like we were splashing water on him, and he like pretended to melt like the wicked witch of the West.
He’s kind of like a theatre kid… He’s very theatrical and silly. He’s just always acting a fool and being silly. He’s just a joy. He’s just always so fun to be around. He’s taught me to just bring the joy to everything which we all know he just does a great job with. You always see him smiling, he’s laughing he’s joking. Life’s just a joy when you’re around him."
On the season front, the Sparks are yet to win a game in the 2024 WNBA season having lost both their games so far. Only time will tell if Brink and the rest of the LA unit can fix up some wins to turn around the season after an underwhelming start.
