"This is me": Dearica Hamby finds herself in surprising Paige Bueckers position after viral post
Azzi Fudd hilariously exposed Paige Bueckers' first meal of the day. In a post on her social media, the UConn player posted a picture of a smiling Bueckers with meat sticks, powdered donuts, a water bottle, and another snack in her hand.
One of the known faces relating herself with Bueckers was WNBA star Dearica Hamby. The LA Sparks star commented on the post made by "@overtimewbb" on Instagram.
":/ this is me…," Hamby wrote in the comments.
She also replied to a fan who had hilariously suggested:
"hot Cheetos, pickles, and Krispy Kreme at halftime."
In her reply, the Sparks forward wrote that she hadn't changed, revealing that she had Papa John’s for the dinner, that too two nights in a row.
"lmao I haven’t changed. Just had Papa John’s for dinner … two nights in a row lol and sour patch kids during my workout," Hamby wrote.
Hamby had a great season with the Sparks last season. In her second year with the Sparks, the 31-year-old veteran averaged 17.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. She also shot 51.2% from the field and 34.1% from the 3-point line.
However, the Sparks ended the 2024 season with the worst record in the league. They only won eight out of 40 games.
Basketball analyst claims Paige Bueckers-JuJu Watkins' rivalry more real than Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese's
The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry might be contested by many within the basketball community, given that the two WNBA stars do not play in the same position. However, it's undebatable that it was a successful one, given how much attention it brought to the league.
On Tuesday, on her YouTube channel, basketball analyst Rachel DeMita claimed that the rivalry between UConn's Paige Bueckers and USC's JuJu Watkins would be more real than Clark and Reese.
"When we talk about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark having this rivalry, they're not truly rivals, because they don't get to guard each other. Paige and Juju are very similar in their position, I wouldn't say play style, but they play similar positions, and so they guarded one another," DeMita said. [1:35]
However, the fans will have to wait a few more years for the rivalry to come to the WNBA. Paige Bueckers is eligible to land in the league in the 2025 WNBA Draft. However, Watkins can only join the league in 2027, according to the league's CBA.
There is also a legitimate chance that the fans will get to experience Clark-Paige Bueckers' rivalry by next season. Bueckers is expected to be selected by the Dallas Wings with the first overall pick.
