Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery and Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton were at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena to watch her play. Clark’s Indiana Fever took on the LA Sparks on Wednesday as the hosts tried to continue having a strong finishing kick to end the season. A 93-86 win by the Fever makes it their fifth straight and ninth in their last 11 games.
McCaffery, an assistant coach of the Pacers and Haliburton received hearty applause every time they appeared on the big screen. The home fans are familiar with them, so their reactions to their presence weren’t surprising.

Caitlin Clark got herself going with 10 third-quarter points to lead the Indiana Fever’s comeback. She sank two 25-footers that had the crowd, including her two supporters, buzzing with excitement. The Fever held the lead 69-65 after the third quarter. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston also contributed to the host team’s surge.
The Sparks played with freedom and all-out energy in the final quarter, pushing the Fever to the end. Another Clark stepback 3-pointer and a Boston layup behind the rookie point guard’s assist gave Indiana a 76-68 lead. Connor McCaffery and Tyrese Haliburton again teamed up to help the crowd get louder.
Dearica Hamby, Rae Burrell and Odyssey Sims kept the Sparks in the game, though. They put together another run to make it 87-84 with 1:51 to go. Caitlin Clark controlled the pace and eventually settled the final score with two crucial free throws to give Indiana a 93-86 victory.

Indiana’s 18-16 record is their best since 2016. They have a stranglehold of sixth place and a slim chance of reaching fourth.
