The Women's Olympic basketball group phase was filled with tremendous competition. The knockout round has now been set with certain teams preparing for the next phase of the international competition.
Teams such as the USA and Nigeria have punched their ticket into the next round, with the expectation that the level of competition would increase.

Serbia will face Australia, while Spain is set for a meeting with Belgium. The other two matchups featured will be Germany vs. France and Nigeria vs. USA. It is set to be an exciting day of Olympic Women's basketball.
Which teams qualified for the Women's Olympic basketball round bracket?
Serbia and Spain are in from the Group A bracket after they handled their business in their matchups. Despite the 3-0 record, Spain secured their victories in close fashion with two one-point wins and an eight-point victory. Serbia had a three-point victory, a dominant 22-point outing and an eight-point loss to Spain.
Meanwhile, France, Nigeria and Australia have come out of Group B. France and Nigeria looked impressive in the group phase as France secured a 2-0 record while Nigeria showcased quality wins against Canada and Australia. France had two 21-point victories in the group phase.
Australia, on the other hand, showcased their grit and toughness against France to secure a spot in the quarterfinal round with a 79-72 victory.
When it comes to Group C, the USA, Germany and Belgium have secured their spots in the next round. The USA showcased their dominance in the sport of basketball with a 26-point win, a 13-point victory over Belgium and an 87-68 against Germany.
Despite losing to Germany and the USA, Belgium pulled off an 85-58 win against Japan. Germany was effective in their efforts against Belgium and Japan but came up short against Team USA.

The Women's Olympic basketball knockout round bracket will commence on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Serbia vs. Australia will commence on Wednesday at 2:00 a.m. PT (11:00 a.m. CEST). The second game scheduled to tip off on the same day will be Spain vs. Belgium at 5:30 a.m. P.T. (2:30 p.m. CEST).
The final two contests on Aug. 7 will be Germany vs. France at 9:00 a.m. PT (6:00 p.m. CEST) and Nigeria vs. USA at 12:30 p.m. PT (9:30 P.M. CEST).
