Top 3 WNBA teams in the running to sign France's Gabby Williams post-Olympic heroics
Gabby Williams is getting looks from several WNBA teams after a heroic Olympic performance. Reports indicate that the former 2018 No. 4 pick could sign with one of three teams as she eyes a potential return to the WNBA.
In six games in Paris, Williams averaged 15.5 points, 4.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds, shooting 48 percent from the field and 32 percent from 3-point terrirtory. She also displayed her defensive versatility, notching 2.8 steals per game.
Against Team USA, Gabby Williams continued her strong play on the biggest stage, posting 19 points, three assists, seven rebounds and three steals, nearly pushing France to the gold medal. France lost a heartbreaker, 67-66, but Williams made her mark at the Olympics.
She's also considering remaining in France, setting her up for unrestricted free agency following the conclusion of the WNBA season. Williams is fielding many offers to return to the WNBA, but only one team can land her.
