He is currently under contract with WWE, where he competes on the SmackDown brand as Gunther and currently holds the title of WWE Intercontinental Champion for the first time. His real name is Walter Hahn and has wrestled in several independent promotions around the world, most notably Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw), where he became a three-time wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), a former one-time PWG World Champion, and Progress Wrestling, where he is a former Progress Unified World Champion.
Walter is the first Austrian wrestler to take part in the WWE and a five-time world champion overall.
