Gunther's real name is Walter Hahn and he goes by various ring names such as Big Daddy Walter, Big Van, Walter, Gha-cha-ping, Gunther, Walter, and Walter Hahn. He is 6 ft 4 in and he was born in Vienna, Austria. The Austrian wrestler during his early years was trained by Michael Kovac, Tatsuhito Takaiwa, and Tomohiro Ishii. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand. Hahn is the the leader of Imperium.
He joined WWE back in 2019, and soon became the WWE United Kingdom Champion. He held the belt for 870 days, which was then the longest singles title reign since Hulk Hogan's WWE title run that ended in 1988. Walter's reign ended at the hands of Ilja Dragunov and then he soon was promoted to the main roster, and renamed Gunther. He soon defeated Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship and the era of dominance began once again. Gunther held the title for 666 days, which is the longest in the title's history, before losing it to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania XL. He did not slow down after defeat, and immediately won the King of the Ring tournament in 2024.
