WWE King and Queen of the Ring

WWE King and Queen of the Ring is a PPV event scheduled to take place on May 25, 2024 live from the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This pay-per-view marks the first King of the Ring PPV in nearly a decade. Further, it will be the first King of the Ring tournament since 2021 and the first time featuring a Queen of the Ring tournament as it was known as Queen’s Crown in the first edition.

Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul - WWE Championship Match

Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania XL and then retained it at Backlash France against AJ Styles. On the following episode of SmackDown, he was interrupted by WWE United States Champion Logan Paul, who had retained his title at WrestleMania XL against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Paul is going to challenge Rhodes in a Champion vs. Champion match at King and Queen of the Ring. The match was then announced to be for Cody Rhodes' title and Logan Paul refused to put his title on the line. Rhodes retained his title against Paul at King and Queen of the Ring.

Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed - Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match

Zayn secured a WrestleMania title shot via a Raw gauntlet match after last eliminating Chad Gable, who offered to train him. After winning the championship at WrestleMania, he granted his trainer, Gable, a title match. However, Gable turned heel and attacked Zayn after the match. Reed also emerged as a title contender, leading to a heated rivalry. To settle the score, Zayn will now defend the Intercontinental Championship in a triple-threat match against Gable and Reed at King and Queen of the Ring. Sami Zayn retained his title against the two contenders.

Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan - Women's World Championship Match

Following Rhea Ripley's injury at the hands of Liv Morgan, the Women's World Championship was left vacant. On Raw (April 22nd, 2024), Becky Lynch emerged victorious from a 14-woman Battle Royal, securing the coveted title. However, her celebration was short-lived. Liv Morgan, the last woman eliminated by Lynch, confronted her alongside Nia Jax. Later that night, Morgan dominated Nia Jax in a match, prompting Lynch to grant her a championship opportunity which went down at the upcoming King and Queen of the Ring pay-per-view. Liv Morgan became the new champion at King and Queen of the Ring.

Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair vs. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defended their WWE Women's Tag Team Championship in the pre-show of King and Queen of the Ring against former NXT Superstars Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae. In the pre-show, the champions retained their title.

The 2024 King of the Ring Tournament will take place as a sixteen-man knockout tournament involving some of the biggest names of the company. The first round takes place on the May 6, 2024, episode of RAW and the May 10, 2024 episode of SmackDown followed by Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals.

First Round

The First Round of King of the Ring 2024 took place on the May 6, 2024, episode of RAW and the May 10, 2024, episode of SmackDown. The postponed matches took place at WWE Supershow Event in Tennessee and Georgio on May 11 and May 12.

Quarterfinals

The Quarter-finals of King of the Ring 2024 took place on the May 13, 2024, episode of RAW and the May 17, 2024, episode of SmackDown.

Semifinals

The Semi-Finals of King of the Ring 2024 will take place on the May 20, 2024, episode of RAW and the May 24, 2024, episode of SmackDown.

Finals

The Final of the King of the Ring 2024 Tournament will take place at the King & Queen of the Ring 2024 event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It will essentially be a fight between the winner from the Monday Night RAW roster and the winner from the Friday Night SmackDown roster. The winner will be awarded with the title of King.

Queen of the Ring 2024 Tournament

The 2024 Queen of the Ring Tournament will take place as a sixteen-woman knockout. The competition kicks off on May 6th on RAW, with the remaining first-round matches following on SmackDown on May 10th. Victors from these opening rounds will progress through Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals, culminating in a thrilling Finals match to crown the new Queen.

The highly anticipated first round of the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament kicked off on Monday, May 6th on the episode of RAW. It was then followed by the corresponding episode of SmackDown. The postponed matches took place at WWE Supershow Event in Tennessee and Georgio on May 11 and May 12.
