Candice LeRae is a female pro wrestler from the United States. The inaugural WWE Women's Speed Champion is a SmackDown superstar as of February 2025. The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion began her pro career in 2002 and worked in several promotions such as Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Shimmer Women Athletes, DDT Pro-Wrestling, etc, and held several titles.

Professional Wrestling Career

Early Years (2002-2005)

In 2005, LeRae began her wrestling journey at the Empire Wrestling Federation. LeRae has worked for several independent promotions in America, Europe, and Japan.

PWG and DDT Pro-Wrestling (2006-2018)

LeRae rose to prominence after her time with promotions such as PWG and DDT Pro-Wrestling. She performed several hardcore matches and intergender wrestling matches against the likes of Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kevin Steen, Johnny Gargano, Joey Ryan, and Chuck Taylor. During her time with the promotions, she won multiple championships and wrestled for other promotions as well.

WWE (2018-Present)

Single's Competitor (2018-2020)

In 2017, she entered the inaugural Mae Young Classic and lost. In 2018, she began appearing on NXT to assist Johnny Gargano against Andrade and Zelina Vega. At Royal Rumble, she entered the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble match and lost.

She was heavily featured in the women's division on NXT. She won several championship matches but failed to win. In 2019, Io Shirai attacked her and turned heel. At TakeOver Toronto, she faced Shirai and lost. At WarGames, she joined Team Ripley and won.

The Way (2020-2022)

In April, LeRae turned heel when she attacked Ciampa and assisted Gargano to win. The couple feuded with Keith Lee and Mia Yim but lost. After TakeOver In Your House, Indie Hartwell aligned with Candice LeRae. In 2020, she began feuding with Io Shirai, where she lost on two occasions, TakeOver 31 and Halloween Havoc. At WarGames, Team LeRae defeated Team Blackheart.

In November, Austin Theory, Candice LeRae, Indie Hartwell, and Johnny Gargano created a stable called The Way. In 2021, Hartwell and LeRae entered the Women's Dusty Rhodes Classic and lost. In May, LeRae and Hartwell defeated Blackheart and Moon to win the WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Championship. At the Great American Bash, they lost the titles to Stark and Shirai. In August, she announced her pregnancy and went on maternity leave.

Speed Championship (2022-present)

Candice LeRae returned to WWE in 2022 and later reunited with Indi Hartwell before turning heel in 2024. In October 2024, she became the first WWE Women's Speed Champion, but when Hartwell was released in November, she lost her tag team partner. LeRae entered the 2025 Royal Rumble as number 23, but Trish Stratus defeated her.
