Naomi : A Brief Biography

Trinity Fatu is an American professional wrestler, and dancer signed with WWE. She is currently assigned to SmackDown. She is a former two-time SmackDown Women's Champion and the first African-American SmackDown Women's Champion.

Professional Wrestling Career

WWE (2009-Present)

NXT (2009-2012)

In 2009, Fatu signed with the company and began working under their developmental brand, FCW. In 2011, Fatu appeared on NXT as a contestant and went by the name, Naomi. Naomi could not win the contest but became a fan favorite.

The Funkadactyls (2012-2014)

In 2012, Naomi and Cameron debuted on the main roster as The Funkadactyls alongside Brodus Clay. The Funkadactyls teamed up with Brodus Clay and Tensai, collectively known as Tons of Funk. The team lasted for two years before dissolving due to an injury. Upon her return, Naomi began working as a singles competitor.

In July, Naomi began feuding with Cameron. The feud ended with Naomi defeating Cameron. Naomi entered into a storyline with The Miz and Jimmy Uso. In December, Naomi faced Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship and lost.

Divas Revolution (2015-2016)

During Divas Revolution, Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Tamina formed Team B.A.D. Over the few months, Team B.A.D faced PCB and The Bellas. In February, Naomi and Tamina attacked Banks when she left the stable. At WrestleMania 32, Team Total Divas defeated Team B.A.D and Blondes.

During the Draft, Naomi was drafted to SmackDown. She reinvented her character and went by the catchphrase, "Feel The Glow". At SummerSlam, she teamed up with Becky Lynch and Carmella and lost to Alexa Bliss, Natalya and Nikki Bella.

SmackDown Women's Champion (2017-2018)

In February, she returned to SmackDown and confronted Alexa Bliss. At Elimination Chamber, she defeated Alexa Bliss to win her first SmackDown Women's Championship. However, she vacated it due to an injury. At WrestleMania 33, she defeated Alexa Bliss to win her second SmackDown Women's Championship in a six-pack challenge.

After 140 days, Naomi lost the title to Natalya at SummerSlam. Naomi spent the rest of the year trying to recapture the title, but was unsuccessful. In 2018, she entered the Royal Rumble and lost. At WrestleMania 34, she won the inaugural women's battle royale by eliminating Bayley. She entered into a feud with Mandy Rose, which she won.

Various Feuds (2019-Present)

Naomi switched brands every year during the draft. She entered Money in the Bank ladder match and Royal Rumble each year but failed to win. At WrestleMania 36, she challenged the SmackDown Women's Champion in a six pack challenge but failed to win.

In 2021, she began teaming up with Lana. At WrestleMania 37, she took part in the Women's Tag Team Turmoil with Lana, but failed to win. In August, she returned to SmackDown. In 2022, she ended her feud with Deville and won. At WrestleMania 38, she teamed up with Sasha Banks and won the Women's Tag Team Championship from Carmella and Queen Vega.

During the May 15 episode of RAW, both Banks and Naomi reportedly walked out of programming frustrated at their treatment as champions. Their titles were soon vacated by WWE and both Banks and Naomi have not made any appearances on WWE or any other promotion.
