American professional wrestler Nuufolau Joel Seanoa is more often known by his ring moniker, Samoa Joe. He is currently working for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he was the two-time AEW TNT Champion, and Ring of Honor (ROH), the sister promotion of AEW, where he was the ROH World Champion, ROH Pure Champion, and ROH World Television Champion with the longest reign.
Joe made his debut in 1999, joined ROH as soon as it was founded in 2002, and went on to win the ROH World Championship for a record 21 months, from March 2003 to December 2004. He was later honored with an induction into the ROH Hall of Fame.
After signing with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in June 2005, he began a 19-month winning streak. He competed in TNA for ten years, winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship once, the TNA X Division Championship five times, the TNA World Tag Team Championship twice, and the TNA Television Championship once.
Joe started working as a wrestler for WWE on its NXT brand in 2015 after leaving TNA. He joined the main roster in January 2017 after winning the NXT Championship twice. He went on to win the WWE United States Championship twice and serve as the main event host for multiple pay-per-view events. Due to a series of injuries, he started working as a color commentator in 2019.
Joe's contract was terminated in April 2021, but he was brought back in June and went on to win the NXT Championship three more times before being let go again in January 2022. In April 2022, he made his debut in AEW and came back to ROH.
In 2023, Joe won the ROH World Television Championship with the longest reign in history on November 2. However, he vacated the belt on November 10 to concentrate on his pursuit of the AEW World Championship.
